Bird Hide Battersea Park

An architectural ‘bird hide’ installed in Battersea Park as part of Architecture Week 2007: ‘How Green in Our Space?’

Selected to participate in Architecture Week, we created our hide to challenge the relationship of building and technology with the imperfect and forever evolving natural systems of this setting. Our cubular hide represented building convention (or a typical bird hide?) as a stark contrast to the park. Yet, the cube breaks down into fragments and assimilates to the setting, engaging with the topography and views through the site.
