“Stiles Harold Williams’ planning department have been working with ZSTa since the commenced operation over 3 years ago. Their professionalism and knowledge of architecture has been invaluable in delivering successful planning outcomes throughout the southeast and in Brighton and Hove itself. Over the past few years, their team has grown with the additions of further skilled architects and trainee members, each with different specialisms and backgrounds. The result of which has been a growth in their advice and support to both ourselves and wider planning community.”

Judges Citation - Brighton & Hove Progressive Synagogue
“An imaginative, inspirational and contemporary refurbishment of a former gymnasium to create a welcoming multi-purpose space for religious services, festivals and special commemorations, principally for the local Jewish community while welcoming all faiths.
The judges particularly liked the clever use of natural light using roof lights and the innovative use of subtle tints in the light shafts to complement the colours of the modern light fittings.
Also of note was the sliding wooden screen in the Sanctuary which conceals the Ark. This used long strips of wood in rainbow hues to represent inclusion and diversity. Attention to detail extended to the well-crafted contemporary lecterns in beech and walnut which complemented elements of the design in the Sanctuary, and elsewhere the integration of old elements with new such as the display of old stained glass windows and mosaics.
A truly community-led project working within a restricted budget.”

Myra Bianco - Client
“I co-ordinated a project to redevelop the Brighton and Hove progressive Synogogue in Brighton. The Synogogue committee interviewed 9 companies and ZSTA stood head and shoulders above the competition . They have proven to be true to their word being commercially astute which combined with their green credentials have given us the building we were almost to frightened to believe we would ever complete .
ZSTA went the extra mile to ensure we retained as much of the original design as was commercially viable and it has been a pleasure to work with such a professional team.”
