Victoria Gardens Brighton
Catalysing regeneration by creating a crafts market and artists’ studios and cafe in the heart of Brighton
As part of a campaign for development policy change, strategic sites in Brighton were identified as potential catalyst points and concept designs were used to ignite debate on regeneration. The Victoria Gardens proposal saw the under-used space transformed by digging into the ground and building a half-submerged, permanent crafts market and artists’ studios as floating pavilions, below an undulating grass roof.
